OilSmart™ is a blend of organic flaxseed oil, organic borage oil, and molecularly distilled cold-water fish oil and contains lipase to aide in fat digestion and prevent the aftertaste of fish oil.
Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) are a form of polyunsaturated fats, the type of fats now called “good fats.” In fact, EFA’s aren’t just good, they’re essential to supporting optimum health. The body does not produce essential fatty acids; the only way to get them is through your diet or a supplementation program, thus making outside sources of these fats “essential.”
Many Americans have a diet rich in Omega-6 source foods (fried foods, margarine, whole-grain bread, baked goods, and other saturated fats), and low in Omega-3 source foods like fish. Due to these eating habits, the typical American diet contains as much as 20 times more Omega-6 than Omega-3’s. Reducing your intake of Omega-6-rich foods while you increase your consumption of Omega-3-rich foods will further balance the equation.
The ESAs in OilSMART™ come from flax, borage and fish oil. OilSMART™ also contains the fat digesting enzyme, lipase. Many people are hesitant to take fish oil because of the fishy taste and “repeat” that occurs with many supplements. Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down the fats in OilSMART™ and helps to prevent the fishy aftertaste. Lipase also makes the EFAs in OilSMART™ easier for the body to absorb. Each capsule is colored with carob to protect the oils from the damaging effects of light.
